Volunteer
with Firm Foundation Youth Homes
When you volunteer with Firm Foundation Youth Homes, you become part of a child’s story. Volunteers play a powerful role in reminding children and young adults that they are loved, valued, and never alone.
There are many ways to get involved. Some require formal training. Others simply require a willing heart
All of them make a difference.
Outside of Home Volunteer Opportunities
Become an In-Home Volunteer
Some volunteers feel called to serve directly inside the home by building relationships and helping coordinate activities. In-home volunteers spend time with the children, assist with routines, and support everyday house activities.
There are many ways to help make our house a true home: Cook dinner. Celebrate birthdays. Decorate for holidays. Plant a garden. Sit at the table and ask, “How was your day?” These simple acts build trust, stability, and belonging.
Because this role involves direct care, it requires the highest level of vetting through DCS, including:
-
Fingerprint clearance card
-
Background check
-
Physical exam
-
Drug test
-
14–18 hours of training
If you feel called to be part of daily life at the cottage, we would love to walk alongside you through the process.
